For some, it’s all about speed and competitiveness. For others, it’s the reassurance of having an experienced team ready to talk through the details. Whatever you need — we’re here to help.
Many brokers will already know some of the team, but here’s a closer look at the people working behind the scenes to support you every day.
Aine Kenna – Underwriting Director
Aine has been with NBS Ireland for nearly four years and holds a CIP qualification. Starting her career in personal lines at a small Dublin brokerage, she now leads this knowledgeable and supportive team, encouraging open discussion and shared expertise.
Her favourite part of the job is engaging with brokers and solving complex insurance queries. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, reading, cooking — and motorbiking, when the weather allows.
Niamh Forde – Team Leader & Senior Underwriter
As Team Leader at NBS Ireland, Niamh plays a central role in guiding and supporting the underwriting team. She has been with the business for over three years and holds an ACII qualification.
She finds it genuinely rewarding to help brokers find the right solution, combining experience with a responsive service approach. Niamh describes the culture as close-knit, driven, and full of purpose.
In her spare time, she enjoys reading, going to gigs, and heading out for walks with her dog. A naturally curious person, she once considered a career in investigative journalism — a skillset that still shines through in her underwriting.
Alan Hunter – Development Consultant
Alan joined NBS Ireland in October 2024 as Development Consultant, bringing two decades of insurance experience and a strong background in sales and distribution.
His focus is on broker development and building long-term partnerships that go beyond business. With a friendly, team-first culture behind him, Alan’s also a big rugby fan, enjoys eating out, and is a family man who’d love to be a rugby agent if he wasn’t in insurance.
Sue Coogan – Development Underwriter
With 18 months at NBS and over 25 years in the industry, Sue knows what it takes to navigate a competitive market. She holds a CIP qualification and thrives on seeing new business go on cover — especially when she’s delivered a great outcome for the broker.
Sue brings a collaborative, positive energy to the team. When she’s not underwriting, she’s likely at the gym, at a concert, or hanging out with her beloved dog.
Jamie Corcoran – Underwriter
Jamie joined NBS Ireland in October 2023, bringing more than six years of valuable insurance expertise. He plays a key role in underwriting a wide variety of commercial risks, applying technical insight and market knowledge to support our broker partners with confidence and clarity.
Louise Mellon – Underwriter
Louise has been with NBS for three years and holds both a CIP and a Business & Enterprise degree. She began her career temping in an MGA, quickly progressing into underwriting while studying for her exams.
She enjoys the variety that comes with NBS’s broad product range and values the company’s strong culture of inclusion and recognition. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, listening to music, and getting into a good documentary or movie.
Lauren O’Donnell – Underwriter
Lauren is a Commercial Liability Underwriter and has been with NBS for three years. She holds a CIP qualification and an Honours Degree in Business.
She enjoys the variety that comes with working across multiple schemes and values the collaborative environment between colleagues and brokers alike. Lauren sees strong product knowledge, clear communication, and good team leadership as key to successful underwriting.
Outside of work, Lauren enjoys Pilates, going for walks, and has always had a fascination with flying — she once considered becoming a pilot.
Eibhlin Mangan – Underwriter
Eibhlin joined NBS in November 2023 and holds a BSc in Finance, Computing and Enterprise, along with a Master’s in Business Studies. She previously worked in insurance in both Ireland and London, gaining experience within the industry.
She enjoys the variety that comes with working across different products and clients, and especially values the technical side of underwriting and building broker relationships. Eibhlin describes the team culture as welcoming, supportive, and highly collaborative.
Outside of work, she enjoys travelling and spending time with her family. A former Swiss resident, she’d love to spend more time at Lake Zurich.
Eoghan Walsh – Underwriter
Eoghan has been with NBS for just over a year and brings both Irish and international experience to the team, having previously worked for a Commercial MGA in Canada. He holds a degree in Business Studies from the University of Limerick, has completed his APA, and is currently working towards his CIP.
He appreciates the flexibility of the underwriting approach at NBS, where underwriters are encouraged to consider each case on its own merits and find ways to stand out in a competitive market.
Outside of work, Eoghan enjoys running, hiking, travelling, and supporting Munster rugby whenever he can get to a game.
