NBS Ireland has strengthened its Professional Indemnity offering with the addition of AmTrust International as a new capacity provider. From 7th October 2026, AmTrust International Underwriters DAC has joined existing insurer Accelerant Insurance Europe SA in a new 50/50 co-insurance arrangement across NBS Ireland’s PI portfolio, providing additional A-rated capacity and supporting the continued development of the product.

The new arrangement will apply to all new business from 7th October, with renewals moving to the co-insurance arrangement 30 days later. Both Accelerant and AmTrust Group’s currently hold an A- (Excellent) Financial Strength Rating from A.M. Best, bringing together two established capacity providers to support NBS Ireland’s PI portfolio.

Alongside the new capacity arrangement, NBS Ireland has increased the maximum limits of indemnity available across its PI portfolio. Limits of up to €10 million are now available for architects, engineers, chartered surveyors, design & construct risks and a wide range of miscellaneous professions, while the maximum available limit for accountants has increased from €5 million to €6.5 million.

Aine Kenna, Underwriting Director at NBS Ireland, said: “We’re pleased to welcome AmTrust as an additional capacity provider for our PI portfolio. Bringing together the strength of Accelerant and AmTrust gives us additional capacity while maintaining the consistency of cover and service our brokers already know.

We have ambitious plans for PI in Ireland, and this partnership gives us a strong platform to continue developing our offering and supporting our broker partners.”

AmTrust International was introduced by Accelerant through it’s Risk Exchange platform, building on NBS Ireland’s existing relationship with Accelerant and bringing additional specialist capacity to its PI portfolio. The platform provides access to a network of capacity partners.

The development is part of NBS Ireland’s continued investment in its PI offering, strengthening its capacity and expanding the support it can provide to brokers and their clients.
