New Insurance Cover Launched for Sports Clubs, Gyms and Social Clubs

NBS Ireland has launched a new insurance product designed to meet the specific needs of sports clubs, gyms, and social clubs. These venues are vital parts of their communities, and this product reflects our commitment to supporting the people who run them with practical, flexible and responsive cover.
Backed by A-rated capacity from Accelerant, the product combines tailored cover with expert underwriting and fast turnaround times—giving brokers a straightforward way to place these varied and often complex risks.
Sports Clubs
Our policy is designed to support the wide variety of sports clubs found across Ireland. We can provide cover for Gaelic football, soccer, hurling, rugby, cricket, hockey, racquet sports, table tennis, padel, martial arts, boxing, wrestling, and crown green bowls—both indoor and outdoor.
Cover can include members’ clubs with bars, door staff, live music, and events such as weddings, christenings, and charity nights. Contact sports clubs can also be considered, with liability excluded.
If a client’s sport isn’t listed, we encourage brokers to get in touch to discuss whether we can provide a quotation.
Gyms
Our product covers both gyms and health & fitness clubs, including 24-hour operations—even during unstaffed periods, provided appropriate safety measures are in place.
Cover can extend to a broad range of amenities, including swimming pools (leisure and hydrotherapy), saunas, steam rooms, spas, hot tubs, and whirlpool baths. We also include attendance at external events.
Social Clubs
We’ve built our social club cover on a strong foundation of expertise in the licensed leisure sector. We understand that these venues often blend elements of hospitality, entertainment, and community engagement—and require insurance that reflects that.
The product can be tailored to suit a wide range of venues including community centres, village halls, and local social clubs. Cover can include protection for gaming machines, live music, interactive games, food service, mobile bars, door staff (third-party or in-house), outbuildings, and events such as weddings, christenings and charity nights.
