Professional Indemnity Limit Increased to €6.5 Million
7 August 2025
We’ve increased our Professional Indemnity (PI) limit to €6.5 million, giving access to stronger, streamlined protection across a wide range of professions.
In response to growing PI expectations across many sectors, this change helps simplify placement by reducing the need for excess layers in many cases, while enhancing the overall value of cover available to professional service firms.
Why We’ve Made This Change
Professional indemnity expectations are rising across industries. Whether it’s public tender requirements or large private contracts, clients are being asked to demonstrate higher levels of cover — and we’ve responded by strengthening our proposition to meet those needs.
This increase reflects the growing demand for higher single-layer PI limits, alongside the need to keep pace with evolving regulatory and contractual requirements.
What This Means in Practice
For many placements, €6.5 million provides comprehensive cover without the need to source excess layers. This simplifies the process for brokers and reduces placement time, while also ensuring clients have access to strong protection that meets or exceeds typical contractual requirements.
The uplift is particularly valuable for firms operating in consultancy, construction, design and engineering, and other sectors where PI standards are steadily increasing. It ensures that brokers and their clients can trade with confidence, backed by a policy that reflects today’s commercial landscape.
Who the New Limit Applies To
The increased €6.5 million Professional Indemnity limit is available across a wide range of trades, including architects, engineers, surveyors, property professionals, and those working in design and construction. It also extends to a broad selection of miscellaneous professional services.
This limit is available to businesses with contract values up to €50 million, making it a strong fit for many small to mid-sized professional firms.
This enhancement is part of our continued commitment to providing relevant, reliable cover that reflects the real-world needs of today’s professionals.
